Region Updates
Region 1

Region 1 encompasses Ferry, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Spokane and Stevens Counties. Sharon Colby (Spokane County FPD 1) is the Region 1 Representative on the WFCA Board of Directors. Ms. Colby took office in 1994. Ms. Colby is the commissioners' representative on the Fire Protection Policy Board, serving her third term as Chair. She has served as Conference Host Committee Chair and Co-Chair for a number of WFCA conventions in Spokane. You can contact her by emailing firecomm@msn.com.

Region 2 is comprised of Adams, Asotin, Columbia, Franklin, Garfield, Walla Walla and Whitman Counties. The Region 2 Representative on the WFCA Board of Directors is Emilio Buttice (Walla Walla County FPD 4), who took office in 1996. You can contact him by emailing butticec@hscis.net.

Region 3 includes Chelan, Douglas, Grant and Okanogan Counties. Dennis Bjork (Grant County FPD 5) is the Region 3 Representative on the WFCA Board of Directors. He took office in 1994. He is currently a member of the IRSRA Committee and Chair of the Legislative Committee. Mr. Bjork also served as a member of the Fire Protection Policy Board. Region 5

Region 5 encompasses Island, San Juan, Skagit, Snohomish and Whatcom Counties. Steve Lich (Camano Island Fire & Rescue/Island 1) is the Region 5 Representative on the WFCA Board of Directors, taking office in 2000. Region 8

Region 8 encompasses Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania and Wahkiakum Counties. The Region 8 Representative on the WFCA Board of Directors is Keith Merritt (Cowlitz 2 Fire & Rescue), who took office in 1999. Region 9

Region 9 consists of Clallam, Grays Harbor, Jefferson, Kitsap and Mason Counties. David Wheeler (Port Ludlow Fire & Rescue) was recently appointed by the Board to fill the unexpired term of Region 9 Director, which was left vacant as a result of Leon Thomas' resignation as fire commissioner.
