Health Care Program Changes

• Commissioners enrolling in the WFCA health care program after January 1, 2003 will be limited to the COMP PPO I or COMP PPO II program.
• Any new district enrolling on or after January 1, 2003 will have only the COMP PPO I and COMP PPO II as options (Traditional will be available for LEOFF I employees).
• Effective January 1, 2004, LEOFF I retiree dependents will be limited to the Traditional Program or the LEOFF II/PERS Retiree Program (none of the PPOs will be available).
• Effective 2004 all active commissioners will be in either the COMP I or COMP II programs (PPO not available).
• Effective January 1, 2005 the Traditional Program will not be available to LEOFF II or PERS personnel.
• PPO program not available effective January 1, 2006.
• Former commissioners will have the LEOFF II/PERS retiree program available to them provided the individual has served six years in office and has been enrolled in the WFCA program for at least one year.
• Active commissioners will have a single rate (Medicare as primary coverage does not apply to commissioners over 65 as they are considered employees by government rule).
