Education

Educating fire service personnel is at the heart of the WFCA mission.

With our educational programs, we strive to provide you with the tools needed to succeed in the fire service as commissioners, chiefs, and administrative staff. Our Members deserve to learn from and interact with industry leaders and subject matter experts. Specific events and dates can be found on our calendar as they approach.

Spring Seminars & Webinars

Gather with us to network, stay in beautiful locations, and eat delicious catered lunches at our Spring Series. Stretching the first half of the year, this series is a great place for commissioners, chiefs and administrators to learn their roles effectively and hear from experts in their industry. In even-numbered years, a New & Experienced Commissioners, Chiefs, & Secretaries course is offered, providing best practices on operating a fire district and fulfilling commissioners’ mandated training. In odd-numbered years, the classes feature authorities in their field educating on a variety of subjects important to fire service.

Annual Conference

Unleashing the exchange of ideas from professionals around the state, the ultimate WFCA event kicks off during October. Each year we assemble talented and knowledgeable speakers, addressing current problems and best practices within the fire service. After days full of classes, Conference attendees can network in the vendors hospitality suites, serving hors d'oeuvres and beverages. In addition to the educational component of Conference, the WFCA hosts important Association events such as, The Annual WFCA Business Meeting, Board Election, Fire Service Award Ceremony and our Formal Banquet. More information on Conference will be posted on our events page in August.
